rosary mysteries

Question from linda on 1/4/2008:

My 9 year old daughter is having an issue with the mysteries of the Rosary. We're to pray the Joyful on Monday; Sorrowful on Tuesday; Glorious on Wednesday; Illuminous on Thursday; Sorrowful on Friday; Joyful on Saturday and Glorious on Sunday, right? She's upset because "Jesus wasn't Baptized after the Coronation." Chronologically the Illuminous would come after the Joyful. So do I have my days correct? Thanks.

Answer by Fr. Robert J. Levis on 1/5/2008:

Linda, There is not meant to be a chronological connection of one set of Rosary Mysteries with another set. They all are independent. Besides, say the Rosary with complete independence of the suggested days. Be free. E.g. If sad and worried, recite the Sorrowful Mysteries instead of the Luminous or the Joyful Mysteries. Be free.
