Question from Dom on 12/27/2007:
My question is this: In fasting, if when is to fast for 9 days and these include uding working hours. If at a point one decide to chew a chewing -gum to get rid of the mouth odour that develop as a result of the fast, not swallowing the content, is it considered cancelled for the fact that one has put something in his/her mouth? Because, when you go on hours without eating it is likely that such thing occurs.
Shalom!

Eating involves swallowing, in my book. But if you want to be sure, drop the gum and carry a travel sized mouthwash in your car.
