Question from John on 1/5/2008:
Hello Father,
Of note for Judi, I think Saint Luke masterfully tells of this mystery in his Gospel not only to give a glimpse into the ordinary lives of the Holy Family, but also to provide wonderful foreshadowing of the death and Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord. Just as Mary and Joseph feared losing Jesus forever before their joyful reunion in the Temple two days later, so too did community of believers fear the permanent loss of the Annointed One after His Crucifixion, only to rejoice at His Resurrection on the Third Day. Meditating on this mystery with Our Lord's ultimate destiny in mind lends new importance to one of the few incidents in Christ's early life recorded by the Evangelists. God Bless You,
John
