Dancing at Mass Question from on 06-20-2007: |
Dear Father, My question is regarding a recent news article I read about a Mass in Fresno California in which three scantily clad women danced around the altar during Holy Mass. My question is, would such behavior indicate a lack of the correct intention by the priest celebrant? I mean, would this indicate that he does not intend to do what the Church intends by the celebration of Mass? And if so, wouldn't this be an invalid Mass? If this would not necessarily apply to this situation could it apply other types of errors where there is obviously a complete lack of faith in the Real Presence? Thank you very much and God bless you. |

This would be gravely illicit but it would not invalidate the Eucharist. |
