Question from anon on 1/11/2008:
When someone did something bad that hurt my feelings, it just came naturally and quickly in my mind that I made this comment "He is bad". As soon as I realized what I just did, it was too late for me to stop because I finished saying that already. Did I sin?
Will I offend God if I dislike what is done or said to me especially when others are priests and faithful? These are the ones very much loved by God and I think I cannot have any bad emotions/feelings towards what they do to me. I do not hate these people but only don't like their actions/words.
Thank you very much and God bless.

Since your response was impulsive, without a conscious intention, I doubt if it was a sin, but here are some thoughts that may help ward off similar impulses in the future.
There's a difference between judging an action to be wrong and judging a person to be bad. We can judge actions, but not persons, since only God knows their hearts.
If someone, whether it be a priest, a believer, or an unbeliever, hurts our feelings, it helps to remember what Our Lord suffered at the hands of those He loved, and that His followers can't expect to be treated any better. Offer up your hurt for the person who hurt you, that he/she may receive grace to be more sensitive in the future.
