Catholic doctrine on John the Baptist?

Question from Anonymous on 2/16/2008:
If I understand correctly, John the Baptist was born free from original sin Does this mean that he never sinned during his life as well? I am curious as to what Catholic doctrine has to say on this matter. Thanks you for your time and God bless.
Answer by Fr. Robert J. Levis on 2/16/2008:
Anon, Yes, John the Baptist was cleansed of Original Sin before he was born, at the time the Virgin Mother Mary went over to aid Elizabeth, John's Mother. So he was conceived in sin, but born without it. Fr. Bob Levis
