When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. -The 2nd Joyful Mystery

Wedding at Cana and Immaculate Conception

Wedding at Cana and Immaculate Conception
Question from on 06-22-2007:
Do you think the wedding at Cana could be another way to support Catholic doctrine on the Immaculate Conception? After all, Jesus, Son of God, could not have allowed just any old sinner to "change his mind" (just a term, I know not literally) about beginning His public life, as that would have been not only a scandal, but an impossibility. It seems to me that the only way a "non-divine" human could have even the appearance of influencing Jesus is if that person was, by Divine Providence, always completely free from sin.

Thanks and God bless, Bob
Answer by Richard Geraghty on 07-07-2007:
Dear Bob,

You have a point. But remember that Christ listened to many sinners and granted their request to be cures. But yes, Mary is special.
