Question from Anonymous (UK) on 2/3/2008:
Dear Fr Levis, I had sent a request seeking to be received into the Roman Catholic Church; Having been an Anglican for many years. I am disabled and I don't get out very often, so I asked if arrangements could be made for me to have a private Reception & Confirmation in church. Would there be anything to prevent him replying to my sincere request - other that the volume of parish life? I feel I am being ignored when I am most sincere about becoming Roman Catholic. An RCIA course is impossible to get to, because I would miss far too many of the days. {Not well enough physically, or not brave enough to go out after a bad period, or persuading my reluctant escort to take me}. I look forward to any ideas or thoughts you might have. Thank you for your time.
Answer by Fr. Robert J. Levis on 2/4/2008:
Dear Anon, I suggest this plan. Ask one of your Catholic friends to be the liason person with the Church for you. They easily will understand the impossibility of our attending any RCIA Program. Hopefully an available priest can and will supervise your reading and preparation for entrance into the Church. If you can't be an RCIA candidate, fine. It is not all that necessary. So try to get one of your friends to assist. Please let me know how you are making out. God bless you. Fr. Bob Levis
