Communion wine

Question from Karen on 2/2/2008:
Hi Father Levis, A person at my parish just told me that that for a couple of weeks the wine that was used was not the sacramental wine. We are on a military Chaopel so in the fridge that we store the wine there is our wine for Sacramental use and the wine that the Protestants use. According to her the person setting up for Mass accidentally set out the non sacramental wine for Mass. I know that the wine we use for Mass shouldn't have persavitives but does it spaciffically have to be manufactured for Sacramnetal use?

The wrong wine was used by ACCIDENT but the intention for the consecration was there. Does this totally invalidate communion.
Answer by Fr. Robert J. Levis on 2/3/2008:
Karen, Not to worry. Our sacramental wine has no water, no coloring,no preservatives, nothing but the wine itself. In your case, I doubt highly if the quantity of non-sacramental elements was excessive enough to invalidate the Sacrfifice. Fr. Bob Levis
