Grey Areas of Faith
Question from Kate on 5/6/2008:
Dear Father: I recently had a conversation with my rel. ed. director and in the conversation she stated that she has many areas of our faith which are grey to her and that I do not. She is, of course, correct in her estimation of me but I am curious as to if I should have any 'grey' areas-----I do not have any problems whatsoever with the doctrines and dogmas of our faith and accept them fully and freely as well as attempt to live them each day (although I am not successful at times for which I am truly sorry). My question is should I be grey? Thank you, Kate
Answer by Fr. Robert J. Levis on 5/7/2008:
Kate, Not to worry. Most of our Christians could easily pick up a book of dogmas and be lost reading it in 4 minutes. There are many grey areas of theology that test the best of our human intelligence. Keep studying and you will find one theologian is questioning another. Not to fear. We accept the Faith, real Faith. God bless you. Fr.Bob Levis
