Krakow, Apr. 7, 2008 (CWNews.com) - While Church officials in Rome spoke about the prospects for moving the body of Pope John Paul II (bio - news) to a new, more prominent tomb in St. Peter's basilica following his beatification, Polish Church leaders have offered another suggestion.
In an interview for KAI news agency, the spokesman for the Krakow archdiocese, Father Robert Necek, said that the heart of John Paul II may end up in Krakow’s Wawel cathedral if the Polish Pope is beatified. On April 5, Bishop Tadeusz Pieronek made a similar statement in an interview with the internet site wprost.pl.
