Could you recommend a modern book with inspirational stories of the lives of saints which would be suitable for a bright seventeen year old boy for whom, you feel, it might inspire to consider a vocation?

I can't think of any one book off of the top of my head. You may want to check the website for Ignatius Press or the EWTN religious catalogue online.
