Jewish Scriptures

Fr. Echert, Who interpreted the Jewish Scriptures for the Jewish people before Christ? Who interprets them now?

Answer by Fr. John Echert on 4/2/2008:
Sometime the prophets but commonly Jewish scribes, many of whom had taken interpretation too far and added too many complications to the Word of God, as is evident by the criticism of our Lord. Now it is the Church which properly interprets the whole of the Bible.
