Eucharistic Ministers
Question from Jack on 4/29/2008:
Dear Fr. Levis,
Can a Eucharistic Minister distribute communion at more than one Mass in the same day? Since our church is short on volunteers, some have done it twice on Sunday with the approval of our Pastor. However, a new, young associate angrily insists that we cannot. What does the Church law say about this?

Jack, An extraordinary minister of the Eucharist may distribute Communion as often as he is needed, 2, 3, 4 times a day if necessary. If there is legitimate need, they may function. Fr. Bob Levis
