Early church writing


Question from Steven on 10/5/2007:

I was wondering why some of the early church writings like those in the didache was not included in the NT canon of scripture? If it is not inspired scripture than why and how can it be reliable? Thank you and God Bless

Hi,

Without a doubt Scripture is the actual Word of God. But other writings that are not Scripture can be of value and can be reliable: the writings of the early Church Fathers, for example. Canon law is another.
