When the hour came, he took his place at table with the apostles. He said to them, I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer, for, I tell you, I shall not eat it (again) until there is fulfillment in the kingdom of God. Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and said, Take this and share it among yourselves; for I tell you (that) from this time on I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me. And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you. -The 5th Luminous Mystery

Question from Connie on 10/7/2007:

Dear Judie, This might not be a "pro-life" question, but I connect all evils (abortion on top of the list) with the work of Satan. In the late l800's Pope Leo XIII had a "diabolical" vision with terrified him and prompted him to compose the St Michael prayer to be recited loudly after every low mass while everyone was kneeling. This prayer has vertually disappeared from our churches. (I can't imagine why!!!) Do you think restoring this prayer will help us to defeat this great enemy and thereby help to combat abortion and all other evils. May I have your thoughts? God bless you. Connie

Answer by Judie Brown on 10/7/2007:

Dear Connie

I am blessed to be a member of a parish where the St. Michael prayer is said after every Mass, and I happen to agree with you. Now more than every we need to be saying that prayer with immense concetration on the words

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - by the Divine Power of God - cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.
