What does the I H S symbol letters stand for ? What do they mean? Is this Greek letters?

JHS is more commonly spelled IHS, and it means Iesus (Jesus) Hominum Salvator, or Jesus the Savior of Men. It is derived from the Latin transliteration of the first three letters of Jesus in Greek (IHS for IHC). I hope that helps.
