Communion in other churches

Fr,

My girlfriend's grandmother is getting maried in about a month and she asked if I was going to communion. This is a Luthern ceremony. I told her no because it is NOT the body, blood, soul and divinty of Jesus and just a symbolic communion. I told her that if I did take it, I would be showing that it is that and not the body, blood, soul and divinty of Christ. I am pretty sure of this but just wanted to check to make sure. Either way I wouldn't take it.
