Jesus said, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me." I don't understand what that means.

Jesus was praying the first line of Psalm 22, a messianic psalm that vividly paints a picture of the sufferings to be endured by God's faithful servant. Also, in his human nature, Jesus could have been participating in the sense of divine abandonment that humans often experience during periods of great suffering.
