abstinence only

Do you approve of abstinence-only being taught in schools? Should we encourage politicians to vote for funds for this?

Dear Ann

Thanks for the question. I encourage the Catholic position which is that parents are the primary educators of their children, not the government. Therefore, in matters of sexuality, parents should be getting the education they need so that they can properly educate their children and the school/education system should focus on reading, writing and arithmetic.
