Stations of the Cross
Question from John on 3/4/2008:
Greetings Father Bob,
My question is this:It is my understanding that during ordinary time in the liturgical year that Friday still retains a penetential spirit. Is it possible for a parish to practice the Stations of the Cross outside of Lent? Also can each weekend be looked upon as sort of a mini triduum, with Friday being a day to meditate upon the crucifixion and Saturday and Sunday time to meditate upon the resurrection? Thanks for all you do for so many of us here and on EWTN and blessed Lent to you.
Answer by Fr. Robert J. Levis on 3/4/2008:
John, Yes, the devotion of the Stations of the Cross is recommended all thru the liturgical year, not restricted just to the penitential seasons. Yes, one may look on the weekend as you suggest. Fr. Bob Levis
