Lenten sacrifices
Question from Catholic on 3/1/2008:
Does failing to fulfill our Lenten sacrifices constitute sin? Any advice for us weaklings?! Thank you for your reply.
Answer by Catholic Answers on 3/3/2008:
Catholic--
All that is required is to meet the Church's requirements for abstinence and fasting on Ash Wednesday, the Fridays of Lent, and Good Friday. Anything else is purely voluntary and failing at it does not constitute sin. If you wish to continue the voluntary sacrifice, just begin again. If you wish to set it aside, you're free to do so.
