Hello Judy, I was shocked to find out about the born alive act that would prohibit babies from getting medical attention due to a failed abortion. But, what was even more shocking was to learn that late-term abortions were even permitted, period! Before hearing about the born alive act, I actually thought that all abortions took place the first month of pregnancy. Forgive me for sounding naive, but that is what I believed. I know someone that had an abortion many, many years ago; and it took place during the first four weeks of pregnancy. So, to hear that babies are being made to suffer and actually left to die is something that I can't fathom! Why isn't something being done to prohibit late term abortions, period? If someone insists on having an abortion, then the least they can do is have it done as soon as possible. Sorry Judy, I believe abortion is very wrong at all stages of pregnancy, but there are some cases such as rape or incest that I would make exceptions to. Thank you for your time. Anonymous

The reasons abortion occur are manifold, but your statement gives a clue to part of the problem we face these days. You wrote:

The act of abortion is an act of murder, and whether it is performed at eight weeks or eight months, the result is the same ... a dead human being whose life was devalued by his mother.

There are never any reasons to abort a child, not even in cases of rape and incest. It is not the child's fault that his father sinned and a child should not have to pay with his life for the crimes of his father.

The truth is that our culture has become desensitized to the reality of what abortion does to innocent babies, and it is my job ... and yours ... to help people see the full truth.
