Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The food and wine that divine Wisdom offers to those who are without understanding (First Reading) turns out to be the actual flesh and blood of the Word incarnate, in his glorified state. Faced with misunderstanding and rejection, Jesus insists all the more that it is indeed his own flesh and blood he wants to give us (Gospel).
