ast night, George Sodini, an unmarried 48-year-old computer programmer, walked into an LA Fitness gym outside Pittsburgh and opened fire on an aerobics class. Three women have died, with others in critical condition.
In a disturbing twist to the story, Sodini (who killed himself after the shooting) ran a blog since November, and wrote obliquely about his plans. The entries are alternately frightening and sad, and bring to mind Mother Teresa's famous observation that "loneliness is the most terrible poverty."
