John Carr, the U.S. Bishops' (USCCB) chief advisor on social justice for the last two decades, and who oversees the controversial Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), has responded to two reports filed yesterday by members of the Reform CCHD Now coalition (RCN).
These reports revealed the homosexualism and abortion activism of the Center for Community Change (CCC), and the fact that Carr has been long associated with them, even serving as chair of the board while working for the USCCB.
CCC says it “strengthens, connects and mobilizes grassroots groups to enhance their leadership, voice and power.” In a previous November report, Michael Hichborn of American Life League (ALL), an RCN member, published evidence that 31 CCHD grantees are among these “grassroots groups.”
Rob Gasper of the Bellarmine Veritas Ministry (BVM), another RCN member, issued a follow-up report yesterday, explaining that further investigation of CCC was necessary because “CCHD has not responded publicly or privately to the [initial] allegations.”

A prestigious Jesuit university has at least three professors that have served Planned Parenthood in some capacity, including sitting on one of the abortion giant’s regional board of directors.
Catholic World News first reported the information gleaned from easily-accessible sources posted on the website of St. Louis University, which boasts over 11,000 undergrads.
According to the school's website, SLU law professor Linda Raclin has served on the board of Planned Parenthood of St. Louis since 2007, and is a member of Planned Parenthood’s Working Group on State Ballot Initiatives. Raclin is an assistant professor of legal writing at SLU’s School of Law, and has been employed at the school since 2007.
LifeSiteNews.com’s search of SLU’s website for “Planned Parenthood” showed Prof. Raclin’s resumé with the tagline, “Planned Parenthood of St. Louis. Board Member. Member of Working Group on State Ballot Initiatives. 2007 to present." However, the information does not appear within the current version of Prof. Raclin’s resumé, and may have been excised.

Fined for Calling Abortion “Killing”
The Catholic weekly magazine. Gosc Niedzielny (Sunday Visitor), published by the Archdiocese of Katowice in southern Poland, and which became famous last year after its editor was fined for calling abortion “killing,” just became the country's best-selling weekly. The magazine has just surpassed the leftist publication Polityka, which held the monopoly on #1 selling weekly for over 20 years.
Puls Biznesu (Business Pulse), a major business daily, reported that while other major weeklies have been losing readership rapidly over the past year, mostly as a result of the current financial crisis, Gosc Niedzielny has seen its readership steadily increase. At the turn of 2010, the magazine overtook Polityka with a circulation surpassing 150,000.
Puls Biznesu went on to predict that the Catholic magazine may continue to grow in popularity as more advertising revenue is generated once the news of their first place ranking becomes widely known.

Hodari Officially Under Investigation
Operation Rescue says it has been notified by the Michigan Department of Community Health in two letters that abortionist Abraham Alberto Hodari is officially under investigation by the Bureau of Health Profession for his involvement in forced abortions.
The complaint against Hodari was filed by Operation Rescue President Troy Newman after receiving information about a lawsuit filed by Caitlin Bruce, alleging that Hodari committed a forced abortion on her in 2008, after she withdrew her consent. Bruce stated that she changed her mind about having the abortion after she viewed an image of her pre-born baby on an ultrasound imaging screen.
Newman's complaint also referenced a 20-year-old case involving a then-16-year-old girl who came forward last year to tell of her abortion by Hodari that she says he forced upon her under false pretenses. Jennifer McCoy filed her own complaint against Hodari saying that she went to his office for what she believed was a routine pre-natal check-up for a wanted pregnancy when she was forcibly aborted. The fact that she had become pregnant by a 40-year-old high school teacher was also never reported to authorities, as is required by law.
