Recieving Communion
Question from M Throop on 3/20/2008:
May I receive communion if I am not married in the Church? I was married outside the Church.
Answer by Catholic Answers on 3/22/2008:
Hi,
If you are not married in the Church, the Church does not consider you to be validly married. So every time you have relations you are committing a mortal sin.
If neither of you has been divorced, it would not be a difficult matter to have your marriage blessed. If either of you has been divorced, you need to see a priest about the possibility of having the pevious marriage annuled. If you go to Confession you may receive Holy Communion if you and your husband refrain from relations until you are married in the Catholic Church. You are in my prayers.

Assumption of Mary
Question from Rocio on 3/19/2008:
I'm very confused. I'm Catholic but never really knew much about my faith. I recently started to read the Bible and watch to programs on TV. I had always heard that Mary never died, that Jesus took her while she was sleeping, and now I find out that she did die! This might sound ignorant to you but I really don't know. I have in-laws that are born-again Christians and try to tell me that what we believe in the Catholic Church is wrong. I get very upset because I really don't know how to answer to defend my faith.
